"Those who lived there" are at first the inhabitants of Buenos Aires, in particular those of the old district of San Telmo. "Those who lived there" are also those who live in dolls (« There are people in dolls », I caught myself saying on the phone to L., not long after my arrival in Argentina). Dolls are alive. In addition "Those who lived there" are the souvenirs, the memory, those to whom dolls belonged, those who grew there, who were children, who remember. This is a work about time, the face of Buenos Aires, what I saw there.
